Pathological Creatures and Their Psychology
- Characters I love: The Joker, Batman.
- A modern thriller employing high-tech visual stunts.
- However, what attract me are the characters Joker and Batman, especially Joker, and the fact that the film is beautifully shot in a graphics novel style with dreary overtone.
- Both characters are psychopaths.
- Joker because he is terribly defaced (caused by Batman).
- Batman because his childhood trauma, where his parents are killed in a robbery by the then a young, handsome Joker.
- Joker hides his feelings by a eternal laughter, while Batman is eternally sulky with a serious face.
- This is cop and robber gone insane.
Joker calls Batman the “Sideshow phony”. Not until few years later i realized how much culture and history that jab alludes. It's so fittingly funny too. If you want to know more about sideshows, i recommend the film: Sideshow: Alive on the Inside
