The British Empire flag is composed of one big red cross in the middle that is the Saint George's cross of England, and a red x-cross behind it that is the Saint Patrick saltire (for Ireland), and behind it is the white x-cross that is the Saint Andrew's saltire (of Scotland), amidst a deep navy blue. Three Saints are involved in this ensign.
